An affluent market town located near to High Wycombe and some 27 miles north-west of central London, Amersham has a population of around 18,000 which is split between its two distinct parts (Old Amersham and Amersham on the Hill). Settled even before Anglo-Saxon times, Amersham was named in the Domesday Book (1089) as Elmodesham.
Amersham can be accessed from the A404 and A416.
