One of the rural Home Counties of south-eastern England, Buckinghamshire (or Bucks as it is normally called) was named after the Saxon landowner Bucca (Bucca's Home), the county town is Aylesbury, and the population is around 720,000, the largest town is the new town of Milton Keynes which has mostly developed since the 1970's.
