Chard is a small town of around 12,000 inhabitants, located near to Somerset's border with Devon. A town with a long history, Chard was listed as Cerdre in the Domesday Book, it was largely rebuilt after a catastrophic fire in 1577, it was previously well known for textiles and lace manufacture.
Chard can be accessed via the A30 and A358.
