Harpenden is a small town with a population of around 29,000, it is located within the district of St Albans, and is a popular communter town with good rail links with London. Harpenden's history possibly goes back to the Roman times although the present town developed during the 11th century with the clearing of surrounding woodlands.
Harpenden can be accessed via the A1081 between Luton and St Albans, it is also close to the M1 motorway.
