North Yorkshire Moors: A large area of heather moorland located in North Yorkshire, England, the North Yorks Moors covers an area of some 554 square miles. It has been a National Park since 1952, attracting millions of visitors each year, who visit for the peaceful scenery, the excellent walking, and the varied fauna and flora.

While in the area go to the North Yorkshire Moors Visitor Centre in Lodge Lane Danby, travel on a steam train on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, visit Newburgh Priory, Monk Park Farm, Spoute House, Shandy Hall and Gardens, Helmsley Walled Garden and Helmsley Castle.

The North Yorkshire Moors area can be accessed via the A169 (Pickering), the A171 (Scarborough, Whitby, Middlesbrough), the A170 (Thirsk), and the B1257 (Helmsley).
