Marchwood sits on the western edge of Southampton Water, a village that feels part residential, part working waterfront, with a bit of New Forest influence creeping in from the other side. It's not flashy, more the sort of place people settle into, with a steady local feel & decent access to bigger towns. The roots go back to Saxon times, though it really grew during the 20th century with military and port activity shaping the area. These days, the population is around 6,000, give or take. You've got Marchwood Industrial Park and the military port nearby, but also quieter spots like Eling Tide Mill and the New Forest within easy reach. Beaulieu and Buckler's Hard aren't far either if you're after a bit of history. The A326 runs straight through, linking to the M27, Totton station is the closest rail stop, and Southampton Airport is about 20 minutes away, so getting in &amp' out is fairly straightforward.
