Lymington is one of those coastal towns that just seems to get the balance right. Sitting on the edge of the New Forest, it has a working harbour, cobbled streets and a steady stream of boats heading out into the Solent. You get a bit of everything - sailing culture, old-school pubs, boutique shops and cafés that feel properly local. The heart of it is the quay itself, with rows of yachts and fishing boats giving the place that classic maritime feel without it trying too hard.
Getting to Lymington is easy. It connects to the M27 crossing the south coast via the A337, so it's easy enough to get in by car. There are two train stations, Lymington Town and Lymington Pier, and services to Brockenhurst where you can get on the main line to London Waterloo. Ferries run regularly from Lymington to the Isle of Wight, which is another option if you're travelling around. Flights are available from Southampton Airport, around half an hour by car. Local buses run to the surrounding villages and nearby towns.
We hope you found this Lymington tourist map useful for your visit to the area.
