Milford on Sea is on the edge of the New Forest overlooking the Solent and the Isle of Wight. It’s one of those coastal villages that feels quietly well put together without being over the top. There’s a combination of shingle beach, brightly painted beach huts and on a clear day, views as far as the eye can see. The centre has a real village feel about it, with independent shops, cafés and pubs adding a bit of character rather than just being another seaside strip.

Milford on Sea is relatively easily accessed by road, being on the A337 from Lymington and the wider network including the M27 to further afield. There’s no train station in the village, although Lymington Town and Brockenhurst are close by, the latter on the main line to London Waterloo. There are buses running between Milford and Lymington and the surrounding areas so if you rely on public transport you’re not isolated. Bournemouth Airport is the nearest airport, around a half an hour’s drive away, but if you don’t mind a little longer, Southampton Airport is also within reach.
