New Alresford (or Alresford) is classic Georgian market town is located to the East of Winchester, a town with broad streets, historical buildings and also a town that has a strong association with the farming of watercress. It is very tidy and retains character; its centre is full of independent shops; cafes; and pubs providing an ongoing buzz around the area. Alresford derives its origins from Saxon times; in the 1700s it became an important coaching stop whilst the surrounding water meadows had contributed to supporting its economy over many generations.
