Nestled right at the base of the South Downs sits the village of Liphook, which happens to be just southeast of the Surrey border. It’s an impressive-sized village with a nice mix of countryside living and good travel connections. The village began life as a coach stop along the old London-to-Portsmouth route before it eventually grew into the bustling village it is today. The current population is approximately 8,000, and even though it has grown to this number over time, there is still a sense of community present throughout the village. You will be able to gain access to walking and cycling along the A3 to places such as the Devil’s Punch Bowl and all areas within the South Downs National Park; however, you can also access numerous attractions (Uppark House and Petworth House) with their stunning interiors and gardens, which remain close at hand. Within the village, you will find everything needed for daily life, good schools, cafés and pubs; you will be pleasantly surprised by how undeveloped the village remains. Transport links are another great feature of Liphook, being located right next to the A3, regular rail links from Liphook station directly into London and Portsmouth make getting into City life a breeze and have easy access to Southampton and Heathrow airports without much fuss.
