Blackfield is located at the south end of New Forest directly adjacent to Southampton Water, a community that has a tight connection between ocean and countryside. It has developed since the last century when the area was used for docks and refinery jobs as there was a lot of influx of people coming in to work at these sites, although there were settlements here long before that time. Today the population is around 5,000 people and has close connections with Holbury and Fawley. Basic amenities including shops, schools, pubs etc., and other local services are within easy reach of the village. Local attractions include; a visit to Lepe Country Park with stunning views across the Solent; Exbury Gardens for extraordinarily beautiful forest presentations; & Beaulieu with its automobile museum and historic estate. New Forest National Park borders to the north of this town. The A326 (road) links Blackfield to Southampton and the M27; trains run from South Hampton to London; and there is a 30 minute drive from the Southampton Airport.
