Aldwick, located on the coast southwest of Bognor Regis, has a relaxed seaside atmosphere and is ideal for those seeking a slower pace without being isolated from everything else. Once just a small fishing/farming community, Aldwick began to develop in the late 1800s to early 1900s when affluent families built their holiday homes along the beach front as a result of the seaside becoming increasingly popular. In more recent times Aldwick has by and large been included in statistics for the wider Bognor Regis area, but there are still several thousand people who live in Aldwick and continue to class it as its own distinct village. The promenade and the beach are the two biggest attractions around Aldwick, especially with regards to Marine Park Gardens, however the area also has other attractions such as West Witterings, Goodwood Racecourse, and Chichester Cathedral. National Trust properties nearby include Cissbury Ring, Uppark House, and Harting Down; while for those who have an interest in sites of English Heritage they will frequently visit Boxgrove Priory and Arundel Castle. With the A259 running through Aldwick; there are lots of public transport options available as there are regular buses connecting Aldwick to nearby towns as well as excellent rail connections from Bognor Regis Station to London, Brighton, Portsmouth, and Southampton, making getting to and from Aldwick very easy.
We hope you found this Aldwick tourist map useful for your visit to the area.
