The charming village of Biddenden is located in the centre of rural Kent, close to fruit orchards, vineyards and gently rolling countryside; therefore, it does not feel isolated but maintains its rural atmosphere. Biddenden has been inhabited since the Middle Ages and has a rich agricultural and cidericultural heritage; many of the original timber-framed buildings can still be seen today. The current population of Biddenden is 2,500 and there is still a strong sense of community life around the village green, local shops and public houses.

The area has good transportation links with Tenterden and Ashford via the A262, while Headcorn railway station has regular train services to London and along the Kent Coast. With many places to visit in and around Biddenden, Biddenden Vineyards is one of the biggest tourist attractions all year round, and offers you the opportunity to sample wine and cider produced in the area. Other nearby attractions owned by the National Trust include Smallhythe Place and Scotney Castle, and there are many places to visit and enjoy the sights in the surrounding Kent and Sussex area, such as Bodiam Castle and Bayham Old Abbey, which could easily be made into a day trip. The peaceful ambience within Biddenden is further heightened by the local gardens at Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and within The High Weald area.
