Coxheath is a bustling community located just south of Maidstone; it is on higher ground than the surrounding Weald of Kent and provides the ideal balance between rural beauty and suburban convenience. originally Coxheath was an estate that consisted of nothing more than one small settlement or heathland, but during the 1700's Coxheath's past has been history due to the large number of troops stationed there because of French invasion fears. Presently, nearly 6,500 people live in Coxheath, which continues to be attractive to families and commuters who would like to live near (but not in) that bedlam!
The A229 is nearby, offering quick access to Maidstone and the M20 (highway), and Maidstone offers easy train links into London. Much of Coxheath still retains its original green character: extensive open fields, woodlands and Green Parks compliment the village itself. Within the area you can visit a variety of attractions including National Trust sites such as the Stoneacre near Otham, the Sprivers Gardens near Tonbridge, as well as sites managed by English Heritage which include Sutton Valence Castle and the grounds of Leeds Castle. Additionally, Mote Park, Kent Life Heritage Farm and the scattered vineyards throughout the Weald provide entertainment for year-round tourists.
We hope you found this Coxheath tourist map useful for your visit to the area.
