Hextable, which is located on the north-west Kent border near Swanley among the greater natural lands, has a composed feel for both commuters and families. Hextable started its life as a rural settlement; however, its boundaries were expanded during the Victorian era when many workers from London begun moving further out into Kent. Hextable was once home to horticultural nurseries and farms, now there are mostly houses but some open areas to keep plenty of green space in between. As of 2023, Hextable has a population of ~4,500 people and has many schools, local shops, and parks that all contribute to the strong sense of community here.

The nearby town of Swanley has regular train service to/from London Victoria and Blackfriars as well as easy access via the M25 and A20 interstate roadways, making road travel straight-forward. Many attractions are within a short drive of Hextable including many National Trust and English Heritage sites such as Owletts at Cobham (National Trust), Chartwell (National Trust), Lullingstone Roman Villa (English Heritage), and Eynsford Castle (English Heritage). There are also many recreational parks such as Swanley Park, Brands Hatch, Knole Park, and Darent Valley countryside that help to keep the area active with the calmness of villages.
