Located west of Whitstable, Seasalter is a village that is situated along the north coast of Kent. It is a calm and rugged place, with large open skies, marshes and shingle beaches, and its history has been shaped by fishing and gathering oysters as well as the production of salt, as it has been for centuries. The village has a small population (approximately 1700) but is busy with tourists who come to enjoy the beach and consume fresh seafood during the summer months.
For drivers travelling from Seasalter to Canterbury or London, A299 Thanet Way runs near to Seasalter. Visitors travelling by train can travel to Weymouth from Whitstable Station. Popular attractions include Seasalter Beach, which is popular for viewing sunsets, sailing and exercising dogs, as well as Whitstable Castle, and the surrounding coastal area is charming in a natural way. Other nearby attractions include National Trust sites (White Cliffs of Dover, Smallhythe Place) and English Heritage sites (Richborough Roman Fort, St. Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury), and Whitstable Castle, Crab and Winkle Way, and a number of nature reserves to the south of Seasalter give the surrounding area additional energy but not so much as to detract from the overall serenity of the village.
We hope you found this Seasalter tourist map useful for your visit to the area.
