A relaxed Kent village in the Medway Valley, Hadlow has farming and fruit-growing roots from Saxon times, and still continues to do so today. Its main landmark, established in the early 1800s, is the towering Gothic-style Hadlow Tower which can be spotted for miles around. With approximately 3,500 people living there, it has a friendly feel, is relatively compact, and does not appear to be sleepy.

Hadlow has good road links via A26 and A21 and Tonbridge station has a fast rail service into London. The college provides vital links between Hadlow and the wider community by attracting students from throughout Kent. The village has many attractions in close proximity to it, including National Trust's Ightham Mote and Knole; English Heritage's Lullingstone Roman Villa and Bayham Old Abbey; as well as Penshurst Place, Tonbridge Castle and local vineyards where many visitors come each year to sample the produce.
