Westerham is a charming market town tucked between the North Downs and the border with Surrey, full of character and surrounded by rolling countryside. It's a proper blend of history and everyday life, with cosy pubs, antique shops, and a green in the middle where locals sit with ice creams in summer. Though small, it's a place with a big personality, often drawing visitors thanks to its famous past residents and its postcard-worthy High Street.

You could head to Leeds Castle, often dubbed the loveliest castle in the world. Canterbury's always a solid choice with its cathedral and winding streets, while the coast gives you Whitstable for oysters or Margate for a more classic seaside fix. The Kent Downs, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offer brilliant walks and plenty of spots to stop for a pint with a view.

Getting to Westerham's pretty straightforward by car—it sits just off the A25 and is within easy reach of the M25. It doesn't have its own train station, but nearby Oxted and Sevenoaks have regular services into London. You can grab a taxi or bus from there to the town. Gatwick is the closest airport, just over half an hour away, which is handy if you've got visitors flying in.
