Longstanton is a growing South Cambridgeshire village that is around six miles to the north-west of Cambridge. Lonstanton had a population of about 2,700 before recent development changed the wider area. The history of the village stretches back many centuries, and the unusual survival of two medieval churches, All Saints' and St Michael's, gives the village that extra bit of character. Local facilities include shops, a pub, primary school, medical practice, sports grounds and community spaces. The nearby Guided Busway provides transport links into Cambridge, whilst the A14 is nearby. The village of Northstowe is now right next door to Longstanton. National Trust days out could include Anglesey Abbey and Wimpole Estate, while English Heritage's Denny Abbey is another worthwhile trip if you have time.
