Little Paxton is a growing village that sits beside the River Great Ouse, just to the north of St Neots. Little Paxton has a population of around 4,000. The history of the village stretches back to medieval times, with St James' Church among the older landmarks that can be seen there, while gravel extraction later helped to shape the lakes that now surround the village. Little Paxton has a primary school, shop, community facilities, sports clubs and plenty of green space. The A1 is close by, and St Neots railway station provides direct trains to London and Peterborough. Paxton Pits Nature Reserve is the local highlight, while National Trust days out include Wimpole Estate. English Heritage's Bushmead Priory is also nearby if you fancy a trip there.
