Barwell is a large village that is located in south-west Leicestershire, close to the town of Hinckley. Brwell has about 9,000 residents and a history that has been shaped by farming, framework knitting and the boot and shoe trade. Its older centre grew a fair bit during the industrial era, leaving a mixture of traditional streets and newer housing. The A47 passes nearby, giving handy road links to Leicester and Hinckley, while Hinckley railway station provides services to Birmingham and Leicester.
