Glen Parva is a suburban village that is situated just south of the city of Leicester. It has about 6,000 residents and is in a setting that is shaped by the River Soar and Grand Union Canal. Once upon a time it was a much smaller rural settlement, but it expanded considerably during the 20th century as Leicester's suburbs spread southwards. The nearby A426 gives handy road links into Leicester and towards the M1 motorway, while South Wigston railway station is within easy reach for those who like to take the train.
