Whetstone is a largish village that is located to the south of the city of Leicester, and has about 6,500 residents with a history that stretches back to medieval times. Farming and framework knitting once played a big part in local Whetstone life, whilst industry and housing later helped to turn it into the busy community that can be seen today. Road transport is easy as the A426 runs nearby, with the M1 and M69 also within easy reach, and Narborough and South Wigston offering convenient railway connections for those who prefer to take the train.
