Hassocks is located at the base of the South Downs, West Sussex which exudes a sense of community and a quiet village atmosphere; being near the commuter hub of Brighton creates a unique blend of both suburban conveniences and an authentic rural environment. As a result of the railway's arrival, the town grew steadily from its original Victorian origins into what is now Hassocks today. Hassocks has grown to approximately 8,000 residents and has a friendly, lived-in look with many local cafés, pubs, and shops only a short distance apart from one another in the village centre.

Hassocks railway station provides direct services to London, Brighton and Gatwick Airport. The A23 provides major road access. Many people like to hike and/or bike from Hassocks to Ditchling Beacon, South Downs Way, and the famous windmills of Clayton. Two of the National Trust's favourite destinations are nearby (Devil's Dyke and Nymans) while many English Heritage visitors will stop at Bramber Castle and walk through the historic streets of Lewes before returning home. This is a real village feel with plenty of country pubs, hiking boots and good quality coffee coming together very naturally.
