Whitehill is situated next door to Bordon in eastern Hampshire; the woods and moors surrounding them give the whole area a greener, wider aspect than many modern towns that people use as commuter bases. The village developed quite a lot due to military connections with the nearby military bases and was gradually merged with Bordon into a larger community; the total population of the two towns is now over 15,000, but there are parts of Whitehill still retaining their village identity amongst the new development. There are a lot of walks and cycle routes in the area, particularly around Hogmoor Inclosure and Alice Holt Forest, while places like Uppark House and South Downs National Park are easily accessible for day trips. The area also has adequate everyday facilities, including schools, leisure spots, shops, cafés, etc., all situated within the area of the two towns. In terms of transport connections, these continue to be enhanced, including improvements to the A3 and improvements to rail from Liphook and Liss to the Airport, accessible in approximately 1 hour depending on traffic conditions.
