Overton village is a charming Hampshire village that has a traditional main street lined with quaint old brick houses and is situated alongside the River Test. The village has a laid-back rural atmosphere that is perfect to settle down in and has a long history starting in Saxon times, and evolving with its agricultural, milling and papermaking industries. Despite recent growth in overwriting there is still a substantial village community feel. The population of Overton is approximately 4,000 +/-, and the village centre is made up of a good selection of local shops, cafes, pubs, and the essentials of daily life. In close proximity to Overton are a number of attractions including the ‘Bombay Sapphire Distillery’ at Laverstoke Mill and the Vyne estate where you will discover an impressive country house and gardens. The North Wessex Downs area offers an abundance of walking routes across extensive areas of open countryside. The Watercress Line and the historic city of Winchester are also easily accessible from the village. Transport-wise, Overton Railway Station provides direct train services to both London and Exeter, the A303/M3 is easily accessible from the village, and Southampton International Airport can be reached in less than an hour's drive if traffic is light.
