The village of Henfield is located in West Sussex, sitting between the South Downs and the Weald and exudes a true country ambiance, yet remains a vibrant place to live and work. A medieval village with a rich history of market trading, Henfield still has many of its original timber-framed buildings and inns that continue to define our village today. Henfield has approximately 5,000 residents, which creates a friendly, laid-back community where independent businesses (such as cafes and pubs) contribute substantially to village life. Access to Brighton/Horsham/Steyning is via the A281 and there are rail links at both Hassocks and Shoreham-by-sea for onward journeys to London or to the coast. People who walk or cycle in the South Downs National Park tend to do so via the Downs Link trail. There are a number of National Trust properties located close by, including Devil's Dyke and Nymans with many visitors also taking the opportunity to visit Bramber Castle and Lewes Castle under the auspices of English Heritage. Obviously, these types of features are all part of the unique character created by Henfield's existing community: green fields, tea shops, and muddy boots are perfectly appropriate signs of life in Henfield!
