Located in West Sussex (UK), the village of Cuckfield is an attractive location that has a wide, historic high street, lots of old inns and a good deal of classic Sussex charm; it is right in the centre of the Mid Sussex countryside. This village dates back to the middle ages and was previously located on a significant coaching route between London and Brighton, which is why you can see timber framed houses next to Georgian properties in the centre of the village today. It has around 3,500 residents who live there, yet Cuckfield has a nice, very much "village like", laid back feel despite being popular with both visitors and commuters! The train station at Haywards Heath is only a short drive away from Cuckfield providing a direct route into London, Brighton and Gatwick airport. The A23 provides a fairly straightforward route into London by car.

People who enjoy walking and gardening are likely to visit the nearby locations of Wakehurst and Nymans, and the South Downs and Ashdown Forest are only a short distance away from Cuckfield. The best of the National Trust will be represented nearby, including Standen House and Devil's Dyke; also, the best of the English Heritage will be available for you to enjoy such as the castles at Lewes and Bramber. This is a location where you can find shops selling antiques, cafes where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, and places you can take your dog to go for a walk on a muddy trail!

We hope you found this Cuckfield tourist map useful for your visit to the area.
