The lively coastal village of East Wittering, situated on the Manhood Peninsula in West Sussex, is known for its sandy beaches, sea air, and casual surf-town vibe. East Wittering began its journey from an agricultural/fishing village to a trendy holiday destination in the 20th Century, as holidaymakers travelled to the Wittering beaches in large numbers. Today, approximately 5,000 people live in East Wittering; however, during the summer, due to increased numbers when the weather is warmer, it appears that there are many more than that. The centre of the village has a nice assortment of cafés, independent shops, and pubs; in addition to the village, the beaches are popular all year round with surfers, paddleboarders, and families.

Road access to the village is primarily through the A286 off Chichester, and train services from the Chichester station to London, Brighton, and Portsmouth are available. Other places of interest nearby include East Head and the dunes of West Wittering (both managed by National Trust), Boxgrove Priory, and Chichester (both managed by English Heritage), among others.
