East Preston is a coastal village in West Sussex located between Littlehampton and Worthing with a relaxed seaside environment that seems to be somewhat different from the other much larger towns located nearby to it. The village has its origins from around the time of Saxons and gradually changed from being a farming community to one that has become known for having a large number of homes as well as tourism opportunities through much of the 20th century. At this time, the population exceeds 6,000, making it feel very much like a community where each person contributes to it having a family atmosphere, where people spend their days visiting the many, local cafés, pubs and independently owned retail outlets in East Preston.
The village has two main attractions: the beach and central greensward which are popular due to the number of people who enjoy walking there or just sitting on the beach enjoying the view of the ocean; and a number of other attractions which are located close by, such as Arundel Castle, the South Downs National Park, and Littlehampton's harbour, which are great places to visit. The village is served by Angmering railway station, which offers direct rail service trains to London, Brighton and Portsmouth, as well as from the nearby A259, which allows for easy access to East Preston from all directions. Two other tourist attractions are the National Trust venues of the Slindon Estate and Cissbury Ring, and the English Heritage attractions of Amberley Museum and Bramber Castle. East Preston is that special kind of village that has resident activities such as walking on the beach, shopping at garden centres, and enjoying tea with friends as an everyday occurrence.
