Goring-by-Sea is a laid-back coastal neighborhood within Worthing that has a vast expanse of beach, numerous shopping areas, as well as having a slower pace compared to other, busier Sussex seaside locations. As a result of the railway bringing more individuals to the coast, the area grew from an extremely small Saxon settlement into a popular residential community between the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. There are currently about 8,000 people who call this area home, which has a nice comfortable, 'lived in' atmosphere due to the many cafes, local businesses, and green spaces that are scattered all over.
