Hilton is a village and civil parish that's located in the South Derbyshire district to the south-west of Derby. Hilton has grown from a modest South Derbyshire farming village into a sizeable commuter community, yet the old centre around St Mary's Church still shows evidence of its rural past. The population of Hilton is now about 8,000, boosted considerably by housing development over recent decades. Sitting close to the A50 gives Hilton quick road links to Derby, Burton upon Trent, Stoke and the M1 motorway, while Willington is the nearest railway station for those who want the train to take the strain.
